Success Story #13

Career Change Turns Things Around!
I received an e-mail from Mary recently (name changed to protect the
innocent). I was inspired by her story. Here is what she had to say.
Hi David,
I so look forward to receiving your budget and money hints.
My husband is on an invalid pension from a severe illness 12 years ago and I
have struggled to bring up 5 kids on Centrelink. Four years ago I decided to
work for an in-home respite care service but since all my kids are talented
musicians and 4 still at school, I cannot work the hours to gain a decent
income.
I joined a multi-level marketing company to supplement my income, but that has
not worked for us either.
However, what your tools (e-mails and software) have done for us is this:-
(1) I saw clearly that that the MLM business was in fact putting us more severely
into debt because we were not even getting the income to cover our expenses.
I have always been a very strict budgeter so we have just no areas to prune.
(2) I saw clearly that we are not in dire financial circumstances because of bad
budgeting but because we just do not have the income to survive.
I have now enrolled myself into uni with a scholarship from 'Queensland Health' to
do a nursing refresher course and when I finish in June will have a guaranteed
good income.
(3) Each e-mail I receive from you gives me more determination that I am now on
track and helps me put my head down and do the work I have to do on these
assignments.
Comment:- Congratulations Mary! I got Goosebumps when I read about the nursing
job. I love it when I hear of someone who decides not to just give up, but
instead to really go for their goals and make success a reality!)
We can all take some inspiration from Mary!
