If the seeds to grow a money tree were available, would you buy some?

I guess everyone thinks it would be really great to have a money tree in their back yard. Imagine not having to go to work to live the life you desire. You could just pick a few 'thousand dollar notes' each week and away you go! If you ran out you could just pop back and grab a few more. How good would that be? Can you imagine it?

Sadly, we all know there are no such seeds, but every one of us can have a money tree if we really want one. We don’t need seeds! The trouble is that when we think about a money tree, we could probably cope with the thought that it might cost us a few thousand dollars (maximum) and produce as much money as we could spend each week for the rest of our lives.

Unfortunately we also know that this is not a reality. As a result, we put money trees out of our mind and come to the conclusion that the idea of ever having one belongs with the fairies.

The truth about ‘Money Trees’.

There are a few different varieties of money trees. Some are very hardy but don’t produce that much fruit. Others produce lots of fruit but are very fragile and are at risk of having crop failure in a bad season. A good, reliable, hardy, ‘never needs watering or weeding’ type money tree will cost you roughly 20 times what it produces each year!

That means if you want $5 a year income, you need a $100 money tree! If you want $50,000 a year income, you need a $1,000,000 money tree! Now we are out of fairytale land and staring at cold hard reality!!!!

Some people will see the $1,000,000 dollars and go put their head in the sand. Others will be overwhelmed and just resign themselves to working forever and living from pay to pay. Some will ask the question "So what do I have to do to get two of those?"

If that is you, there are two ways you can deal with the question! The first is to keep asking it over and over each day as you go to work hoping to stumble across something that will make the trees magically appear in your back yard.

The other is to get someone with some gardening experience to give you tips and show you a number of ways you could sensibly and logically prepare the soil, select the most suitable variety, plant at the right time with the right amount of sun and shade and nurture it through those fragile early days till it becomes an independently growing asset to your garden.

In 2008 Ray and I will be presenting a series of 'Wealth Strategy Workshops'. These will initially be held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. We want to provide an opportunity for those people who are ready to take action and who are not prepared to just accept mediocrity.

What is a 'Wealth Strategy Workshop'?

Ray and I have considered all of the issues that we know people struggle with when it comes to creating wealth and have combined our knowledge and skills to formulate a full-day program designed to present people with a number of common sense strategies for growing their money tree.

We are very aware that most people do not know where to start or that they have already copied the mistakes their friends have made and have some baggage to get rid of before they can start moving in the right direction. We also know that everyone is different and so will present a variety of different options to choose from so you will be able to choose the one that you feel the most comfortable with.

This list contains broad headings and we will look at specialised areas within each area to identify ways you can increase your wealth e.g. a specialised 'Business' area that we will cover is 'Starting an internet based business'.

To make this as applicable and as understandable as possible we will present case studies of how different people might choose a specialised area from the list and based on their experience, expertise and interests, develop their wealth plan and follow it through to fruition.

You will see that you do not necessarily need to have money to make money (as I was taught as a child). You will also see how important it is to stop trying to do it all on your own.
